Frequently asked questions.

About Life Coaching & My Approach

What is life coaching and how does it work?

Life coaching is a collaborative partnership that helps you identify and overcome obstacles, develop self-awareness, and create actionable plans to achieve your goals. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on healing past trauma, coaching is forward-focused and solution-oriented. At Daydreamer Coaching, I use a unique blend of neuroscience-based thought work and embodiment practices to help you build lasting confidence and healthier relationships.

What makes Daydreamer Coaching different from other life coaches?

I combine top-down thought work (neuroscience, mindset, cognitive tools) with bottom-up embodiment practices (emotional processing, nervous system regulation, inner child work). This integrated approach addresses both your thinking patterns and your body's responses. I'm certified through The Life Coach School and specialize in relationship and embodiment coaching, blending Brook Castillo's Model with shadow work and nervous system support. My goal is to teach you to coach yourself and regulate your nervous system so you leave empowered with lifelong tools.

Do you incorporate spirituality into your coaching?

Yes, my approach is rooted in both neuroscience and spirituality. I believe healing happens on multiple levels - mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. However, my spiritual approach is grounded in psychological principles and neuroscience research. I respect all belief systems and tailor my approach to what feels authentic for each client.

What is nervous system regulation and why is it important?

Nervous system regulation refers to your body's ability to return to a calm, balanced state after stress or activation. When your nervous system is disregulated, you might experience anxiety, overwhelm, people-pleasing, or difficulty setting boundaries. I teach clients practical tools to regulate their nervous systems, which creates the foundation for building confidence, healing shame, and forming healthier relationships.

Who I Work With & Specializations

Who is your ideal client?

I work with adults ages 30-60 who feel stuck in cycles of self-criticism, comparison, or shame. My clients typically struggle with low self-confidence that affects their work, friendships, and romantic relationships. They long for deeper connection but feel blocked by past pain, self-judgment, or anxiety. Many are tired of friendship drama, people-pleasing, and feeling trapped in the "good girl/good boy" mindset.

Do you work with men and women?

Yes, I work with both men and women. While the expression of shame, self-criticism, and relationship patterns may look different across genders, the core healing work is universal. I create a safe, non-judgmental space for all clients to explore their authentic selves.

What specific issues do you help with?

Core Struggles I Address:

  • Low self-worth and harsh inner critic

  • Shame and self-criticism cycles

  • Social anxiety and fear of judgment

  • People-pleasing and difficulty setting boundaries

  • Repeating patterns in relationships

  • Fear of intimacy or connection

  • Perfectionism and "not enough" beliefs

  • Confidence issues affecting work and relationships

Specialized Approaches:

  • Inner child healing for past wounds

  • Shadow work to integrate rejected parts of self

  • Nervous system regulation for anxiety and overwhelm

  • Embodiment practices to feel safe in your body

  • Boundary setting without guilt or fear

Do you work with couples or just individuals?

I primarily work with individuals in 1:1 coaching relationships. However, the relationship skills, communication tools, and self-worth work we do will significantly impact all of your relationships, including romantic partnerships, friendships, and family dynamics. I fully embody the belief that it only takes one person to change a relationship.

What age range do you work with?

I specialize in working with adults of all ages. This demographic often faces unique challenges around established patterns, life transitions, relationship changes, and the desire for deeper meaning and authentic living.

Coaching Process & Sessions

What does a coaching session look like?

Each 1:1 session is 60 minutes and conducted virtually via video call. We'll explore your current challenges, identify underlying thought patterns and nervous system responses, and develop practical strategies for moving forward. Sessions blend conversation, coaching tools, nervous system regulation techniques, and sometimes embodiment or inner child work. You'll leave each session with specific actions and tools to practice between meetings.

How often do we meet and for how long?

Sessions are held weekly to establish consistency and to build on momentum week over week. Some clients work with me for 3-6 months for specific issues, while others prefer ongoing monthly support for continued growth. I require a 12 week minimum commitment to establish our groundwork, then we'll find a rhythm that supports your transformation.

Do you offer support between sessions?

Yes, I offer optional Voxer (voice message app) support between sessions for an additional fee. This allows you to get coaching support when challenges arise in real-time. I also provide email recaps after each session with key insights and action items.

What tools and resources do you provide?

Clients receive worksheets, self-coaching tools, nervous system regulation techniques, and embodiment practices. I may assign specific exercises or reading between sessions. All materials are designed to help you develop self-coaching skills for lifelong growth.

Do you offer group coaching or workshops?

Yes, I occasionally offer group programs and workshops on specific topics like boundary setting, inner critic work, or nervous system regulation. These are announced to my email list and social media followers. Group work can be a powerful complement to individual coaching.

Pricing & Logistics

How much does coaching cost?

1:1 coaching sessions are $125 per session. Pricing may vary based on package options or additional support services.

Do you accept insurance?

Life coaching is not typically covered by insurance as it's considered personal development rather than medical treatment. However, some HSA/FSA accounts may cover coaching expenses - check with your provider.

How do I pay for sessions?

Payment is due at the time of booking and can be made via credit card, PayPal, or other electronic payment methods. Package deals may offer slight discounts for multiple sessions paid in advance.

Do you work with clients internationally?

Yes! Since all sessions are conducted virtually, I work with clients worldwide. Sessions can be scheduled to accommodate different time zones.

What platform do you use for virtual sessions?

I use Zoom to host sessions and group coaching workshoops. Technical requirements are minimal - you just need a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24-48 hours notice for session cancellations or rescheduling. Emergency situations are handled on a case-by-case basis with compassion and understanding.

Results & Transformation

What kind of results can I expect?

While every client's journey is unique, common transformations include:

  • Shifting from constant self-judgment to having your own back

  • Building confidence to set and hold boundaries without guilt

  • Learning to regulate your nervous system to reduce anxiety and increase resilience

  • Making peace with past pain and living with more presence

  • Releasing "not enough" narratives and stepping into authentic confidence

  • Creating healthier, more fulfilling relationships

How quickly will I see changes?

Some clients notice shifts in perspective and emotional regulation within the first few sessions. Deeper patterns typically take 3-6 months of consistent work to transform permanently. The tools I teach create lasting change because you learn to coach yourself and manage your nervous system independently.

What if coaching doesn't work for me?

Coaching works best when there's a good fit between client and coach, and when you're ready to do the inner work required for change. I offer discovery calls to ensure we're aligned before beginning. If you're not seeing progress, we can adjust our approach or discuss whether a different type of support might be more appropriate.

Do you guarantee results?

While I can't guarantee specific outcomes, I can promise that you'll receive my full attention, expertise, and support. The clients who see the most dramatic results are those who fully engage in the process, practice tools between sessions, and remain open to new perspectives about themselves and their relationships.

Getting Started

How do I know if you're the right coach for me?

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Feel stuck in patterns of self-criticism or shame

  • Struggle with confidence in relationships or work

  • Want to heal past wounds while moving forward

  • Are open to both mindset work and body-based healing

  • Desire tools for lifelong self-coaching and growth

  • Value an approach that's both spiritual and grounded in science

What's the first step to working with you?

Visit daydreamercoaching.com/book-session to schedule a discovery call. This initial conversation helps us both determine if we're a good fit and allows me to understand your specific needs and goals.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, I offer a complimentary discovery call where we can discuss your challenges, goals, and whether my coaching approach aligns with what you're seeking. This ensures we're both confident in moving forward together.

What should I prepare for our first session?

Come with an open mind and specific challenges or goals you'd like to address. I often encourage clients to have a notebook by their side to jot down any notes or breakthroughs. Think about patterns you've noticed in your relationships, work, or self-talk. There's no need for extensive preparation - your willingness to explore and grow is the most important thing you can bring.

Can you help me even if I don't know exactly what I want to change?

Absolutely. Many clients come feeling stuck or unhappy but aren't sure what specifically needs to shift. Part of our early work together involves gaining clarity on what's not working and what you truly desire. Sometimes the "not knowing" is actually protective - we'll explore this gently together.

Credentials & Background

What are your coaching certifications?

I'm a certified Life Coach School coach, which means I've completed comprehensive training in thought work, emotional processing, and coaching methodology. I also specialize in relationship and embodiment coaching, with additional training in nervous system regulation and inner child work.

What is your background and experience?

In addition to my coaching certification, I have over 10+ studying under a internationally recognized author, spiritual teacher, energy healer, and shamanic practitioner. I combine years of coaching experience with personal healing work around shame, self-worth, and relationship patterns. My approach is informed by neuroscience research, spiritual practices, and evidence-based coaching methodologies. I'm based in Southern California and coach clients worldwide.

Do you have personal experience with the issues you coach on?

Yes, my own healing journey with shame, inner criticism, and relationship patterns deeply informs my work. I believe the most effective coaches are those who have walked the path themselves. This personal experience, combined with professional training, allows me to meet clients with both expertise and genuine empathy.

Are you trained in therapy or counseling?

While I'm not a licensed therapist, my coaching approach is trauma-informed and incorporates elements like inner child work and nervous system regulation. If clients need clinical support, I'm happy to provide referrals to qualified mental health professionals and can work collaboratively with your therapy team.

Specific Coaching Topics

How do you help with shame and self-criticism?

Shame healing requires both cognitive and somatic approaches. We'll work on identifying shame-based thought patterns and their origins, while also addressing how shame lives in your body. Through nervous system regulation, inner child work, and shadow integration, you'll learn to separate your worth from your actions and develop genuine self-compassion.

What is inner child work and how does it help?

Inner child work involves connecting with and healing younger parts of yourself that may still be carrying pain, fear, or unmet needs. These wounded parts often drive adult patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or fear of abandonment. By offering care and understanding to these younger selves, you can release old survival strategies and develop healthier ways of relating.

How do you approach boundary setting?

Healthy boundaries stem from self-worth and nervous system regulation. We'll explore your current boundary patterns, identify where you over-give or under-protect yourself, and practice saying no without guilt. You'll learn to set boundaries from a place of self-care rather than anger or resentment, making them easier to maintain long-term.

What is shadow work and why is it important?

Shadow work involves reclaiming parts of yourself that you've rejected, suppressed, or hidden due to shame or social conditioning. This might include your anger, sexuality, ambition, or vulnerability. By integrating these shadow aspects, you become more whole and authentic, leading to greater confidence and more genuine relationships.

How do you help with people-pleasing patterns?

People-pleasing often stems from childhood conditioning and nervous system activation around potential rejection. We'll explore the origins of these patterns, practice nervous system regulation to stay calm when others are upset, and develop new responses based on your authentic desires rather than fear. You'll learn to please yourself first without becoming selfish.

Can you help with social anxiety?

Yes, social anxiety often relates to fear of judgment, rejection, or not being "enough." We'll work on both the thought patterns that fuel anxiety and the nervous system responses that create physical symptoms. You'll learn regulation techniques, practice self-coaching tools, and gradually build confidence in social situations.

Working Together

What if I'm already working with a therapist?

Many of my clients work with both a therapist and a coach simultaneously. Therapy often focuses on healing and understanding the past, while coaching emphasizes moving forward and creating new patterns. I'm happy to communicate with your therapist if you'd like coordinated care.

What if I've tried coaching before and it didn't work?

Every coaching relationship is different, and what didn't work before may simply have been a mismatch in approach or timing. My integrated method of thought work and embodiment may address aspects that weren't covered in previous coaching experiences. We can discuss what felt missing in your previous coaching during our discovery call.

How do I maintain progress after coaching ends?

My goal is to teach you to coach yourself. Throughout our work together, you'll develop tools for self-reflection, emotional regulation, and pattern interruption that you can use independently. Many clients choose to schedule periodic "tune-up" sessions to maintain momentum and address new challenges as they arise.

What if I need more intensive support?

While I offer comprehensive coaching support, some clients may benefit from more intensive work like therapy, retreats, or residential programs. I maintain relationships with trusted practitioners and can provide referrals when appropriate. My role is to support you in finding the level of care that best serves your healing and growth.
